Hello, my name is Susan Chahwan (Dip.Mus.Ed). In 1991, after seven years of Directing my own preschool called Play and Learn Kindergarten and gaining much needed experience in the field of Early Childhood Education both on the job and in attaining an Early Childhood Diploma I ventured to start Maroubra Montessori. (A Montessori Preschool within the parameters of Long Day Care). In 1992, I attended the AMI 3-6 Course in Sydney and received an AMI Montessori Diploma 3-6 years. After meeting the Founder of the Australian Montessori Society, Mrs Duyker de Vries I became Course co-ordinator for Mrs Duyker de Vries as she introduced the AMS Course in Sydney in 1999 -2000 and then I became the AMS Course presenter in 2003 and 2004 after completing the Cert IV in Training and Assessment in 2002. Mrs Duyker had also founded THE MONTESSORI SCHOOL in WA where I was able to observe Montessori Education for children from 3 years-24 years. Montessori Works!!! In 2001 Randwick Montessori Works was established and 2005 Maroubra Junction Montessori Works also became a reality. Centrelink Assistance is available to families allowing Australians to receive Montessori Education in Long Day Care Settings. Allowing the opportunity for all people to know how Montessori Education can Improve a child's potential and the potential one has as a Parent is the Mission of Montessori Works. "Help your child show you the way" In 2010, again I will be presenting Workshops for those wanting to know more about Montessori Education ie to interested Parents or/and Teachers. Tuesdays 7.00pm - 8.30pm. I support the Directresses overseeing the Montessori Programmes at Randwick, Maroubra Beach and Maroubra Junction.
